You are a strong and courages man. I found it very courages how you put your life at risk to save the lives of your fellow aviotors. Even though you were badly injured and hurt, you kept your head up and stayed strong. Not only for yourself but also for your fellow troops. You showed me that you and I should always keep our heads up, stay strong and to give all we can give. You deserve The Medal of Honor because you jumped out a plane and broke your arm in 3 places and toke beatings for our country so you deserve alot of respect. I feel those who got The Medal of Honor should have your own hoilday, so that others can reconize all that yous have done. I want to end it ask, I want you to know that you are being thanked and throught about for all that you have done for our country. once again thank you for being such a brave and courages man.

Medal of Honor citation

George E. Day

Rank and organization: Colonel (then Major), U.S. Air Force, Forward Air Controller Pilot of an F-100 aircraft.
Place and date: North Vietnam, 26 August 1967.
Entered service at: Sioux City, Iowa.

Citation:On 26 August 1967, Colonel Day was forced to eject from his aircraft over North Vietnam when it was hit by ground fire. His right arm was broken in 3 places, and his left knee was badly sprained. He was immediately captured by hostile forces and taken to a prison camp where he was interrogated and severely tortured. After causing the guards to relax their vigilance, Colonel Day escaped into the jungle and began the trek toward South Vietnam. Despite injuries inflicted by fragments of a bomb or rocket, he continued southward surviving only on a few berries and uncooked frogs. He successfully evaded enemy patrols and reached the Ben Hai River, where he encountered U.S. artillery barrages. With the aid of a bamboo log float, Colonel Day swam across the river and entered the demilitarized zone. Due to delirium, he lost his sense of direction and wandered aimlessly for several days. After several unsuccessful attempts to signal U.S. aircraft, he was ambushed and recaptured by the Viet Cong, sustaining gunshot wounds to his left hand and thigh. He was returned to the prison from which he had escaped and later was moved to Hanoi after giving his captors false information to questions put before him. Physically, Colonel Day was totally debilitated and unable to perform even the simplest task for himself. Despite his many injuries, he continued to offer maximum resistance. His personal bravery in the face of deadly enemy pressure was significant in saving the lives of fellow aviators who were still flying against the enemy. Colonel Day's conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. Air Force and reflect great credit upon himself and the U.S. Armed Forces.

I feel I can thank George E. Day by showing him my appreciotaion. Also let him know that what he did to deserve The Medal of Honor toke alot of courge and we need a lot more men like him to risk his own life to help others. He was really strong and never gave up.

goal I accomplished

A goal that I accomplished was to read more I was reading this one book called "This cant be love". This book is a really good I enjoyed reading it a lot. I didn't want to put down the book down. every sentence kept you interested and wanted to keep reading it. It was so good that I had my dad interested. The book was about a woman who was being abused by her husband and tells you the story on how she gets out of being abused. I recommend this book for woman who have been abused and those who are going through abuse because i believe this book would give you strangth to move on and do better.

Dream Deferred

What happen to a dream waiting to be found?

Does it melt

like ice cream in the sun

or harden like cemente

over timeand get stronger everyday

does it fly in the sky like a bird

or sore to the ground

like a leaf during fall.

Maybe it hovers over the sea

like grocery bag

or does it down in the waves

to never be seen again.

Goals Accomplished!

Goals I have accomplished three goals on my list and am some wat proud that i succussed my goals and am able to talk about it.

One of my goal that I have accomplished is making new friends. I didnt talk to much people my freshmen year but this year I set a goal to make new friends. I met a few people I knew was around but just didnt talk to them for what reason? there wasnt much but I figured I didnt talk to them because I didnt have any classes with them but now that I have alot of new people in my classes I am able to get to know them and talk more them all. Am glad that I met the people that I met. It is always nice to have many friends. I am glad I at least accomlished that goal.

A other goal that I have set for myself and has reached was to learn new things I learned new things in chemistry and in geometry. I learned new words and experiments in chemistry and I felt very proud of my self for doing my best and making it. I also learned new expressions and new and useful math information that is very useful and good to know.

The last goal that I have reached was have good grades . I am not sure if I have the best grades but so far I have a some what good progress report. Am proud of my grades and so are my parents and that shows me that I can do what ever it is that I was and know that I can reach my goals in life or even in high school. I plan to keep my good grades and do my best in my classes.

What is most valued to me!

What I value most would be my education. I say that my education is most valued to me because without education you wont go as far in life. Well that is how I see it, because having a good education is what pushes you that extra mile. Without education you wont have much knowledge in life.I believe that having a god education is very good to have not only can u be very successful but it can take you were u want to be in life.
Education is very important to not only me but to my family. To my family and me, education is key to what should matter in life. My family is what is also a valued to me but also because I know that I can turn to them in a time of need. My family has been through alot in their times and I feel that what they say is a wise thing not only do they might know what is best for me but also they learned from their mistaks and dont want me to make the same mistakes. I do my best to not only make my parents proud of me but also show my other family members that I can be successful and become what ever it is that I want to become.
Education should be most valued to everyone. I feel this because like I said education can take you were ever it is that you want to go. I like to take school very personal because who dont want to become what ever it is that they want to become in life. Yes, I hate school sometimes but once you learn something new you feel very good like "wow I learned something new and maybe I can pass it on". We get to learn something new everyday in side and outside of school and thats why they have school to teach you things you might not find out how to do outside of a educational enviroment.

My Slave Life!

My name is Giselle Johnson, I am a 87 years old african American and I been through a lot in my time. I live in Asheville, North Carolina. My purpose of my testimony is to let yous know about us slaves and what we went through as we were growing up. I began the title as a slave when I was aout four years old, my mother told me that I was a like a little mouse at that age because my first masters was a owner of a farm and that farm was so busy everyday and I was told to do everything to pick the corns to cleaning the house to even cook.
My first masters were some what evil, well thats how I like to put it. it was my mother, my younger brother and me. My brother was sold off to my masters friend. I didnt get a chance to say goodbye becasue the send him off while I was sleeping. When I awake that morning he was 10 miles away and my master wouldnt let me see him. My mother and I were hurt really bad, but we were not to slack off or show any feelings because my maters would whip us if we cryed or looked sad. My mom pasted away when I was about 13, my master came home late one night and my mom was up cleaning still he was so drunk he raped my mom, she fought as much as she could and punched and kiked until he knocked her out. That morning my mother can to were I was sleeping and told me to run as fast as I can. I havent known wat had happen but i did what my mother told me. we didnt get far my master cought up to us and 15 miles onto running and killed my mother in front of me. I was so hurt that i didnt do anything i was told to do so they would send me to the cellur and beat me so bad I could bearly stand on my own. After my mother and as i refused to do anything that all my masters would do is beat me, they decided to sell me.
I was sound to a Mr. and Mrs. Handerson. They were the most kind heart humanbeans i have every meet. They tought me how to read and speak fluetly. They treated me like if i was one of their kids. I was well respected at there home. I do what ever I was told. i would take care of the kids they had while they go on their monthly trips. I would go with them to church and was aloud to eat dinner with them as a family. I was with the Handersons for a good 16 years until they gave me my freedom. I would never 4 get the Handersons because they showed me so much and loved me and toke good care of me and with them I wasnt treated as a slave.

A little something about me.

2)Provide three adjectives for yourself.
